How much additional weight will each section keep afloat? What is bouyancy of plastic float (do not take into account the dock frame)?

Each float has 500 lbs of buoyancy.

What is difference between Premium and Aluminum Dock Frames?

Premium Frame is entirely surrounded by Resin side walls for built in bumper protection. Premium frame contains 30% more aluminum and is subsequently stronger. Premium frame was designed to mimic a 2" x 6" and the internal stringers are 2x the size.

Will the dock hold up on a river?

We have plenty of Premium Docks that have been installed on rivers.

Can I connect 4 to make an 8' x 20' section?

We have plans to construct 8' x 10' sections which can be attached to create an 8' x 20' dock.

How much weight can a 4' x 10' support?

A Premium Dock Section will support over 1,500 lbs.

Will this hold up in salt water?

We have only extensively tested our products in fresh water situations. Salt Water or "brackish" water will affect the hot dipped galvanized metal brackets and hardware.
According to the American Galvanizers Association, Galvanized coatings provide considerable protection to steel immersed in sea water and exposed to salt spray. The factors that influence the corrosion of zinc in fresh water also apply to sea water. However, it is the dissolved salts (primarily sulfides and chlorides) in sea water that are the principal determinants of the corrosion behavior of zinc immersed in sea water. Given the high level of chloride in sea water, a very high rate of zinc corrosion might be expected. However, the presence of magnesium and calcium ions in sea water has a strong inhibiting effect on zinc corrosion in this type of environment.

Do I need to remove my dock during the winter months?

Normal freezing and thawing will not damage a PlayStar Dock. However, docks are left in at owner’s discretion. No dock can withstand heavy ice movement.

You should consider the following factors:

    What has been the history of ice movement at your location?
    Do other dock owners in your area take their docks in or leave them out?
    Are there local restrictions or requirements?
    What kind of recreational activities take place around the dock during the winter?
