Assembly Options

Choose How Hands-On You Want to Be

Every PlayStar playset is designed to be built in your backyard. The difference is how much of the work is done before it gets to you.

You are not choosing a different playset. You are choosing how it gets built.

Availability Note: Not every playset is offered in all three build options. Available options will be shown on each product page.

Build-It-Yourself (BIY)

This is the most hands-on option.

You get the plans, hardware, and components, but you will source and cut the lumber yourself.

  • Full control over materials
  • Most time and effort required
  • Lowest upfront cost

Best for: Experienced DIYers comfortable with measuring, cutting, and full assembly. View Our BIY Playsets

Ready-to-Assemble (RTA)

This is the full build, without sourcing materials.

All lumber is included and pre-cut. You will assemble the entire playset on-site using step-by-step instructions.

  • Everything included
  • Full assembly required
  • Lower cost than pre-built options

Typical build time: A full day or weekend with two people.

Best for: Families comfortable with a complete build who want to save money.

Quick Assemble (AKA Factory Built)

This is the fastest and easiest option.

The main sections arrive pre-assembled, so the hardest parts are already done. You will connect larger components and install accessories.

  • Major sections pre-built
  • Less time and effort
  • Same final playset

Typical setup time: About 5 to 7 hours with two people.

Best for: Families who want a faster, simpler setup.

The video below walks through the setup process for a PlayStar Quick Assemble playset, showing how the major pre-built sections come together for a faster and easier installation.

What’s the Same Across All Options?

  • Same playset design
  • Same materials and quality
  • Same long-term durability

The only difference is how much of the work you want to take on.
